For nearly 2 decades, Alzheimer’s disease “genome-wide” association studies only covered the autosomes. Today, Belloy and colleagues unveil the X chromosome and prioritize SLC9A7 as a novel Alzheimer’s disease risk gene and potential drug target.
Halfway into 2024, The Belloy lab has welcomed its first four members: Danielle, Chenyu, Noah, and Katie! It was due time to celebrate this wonderful team with a great and tasty lunch!
As vice chair of the Sex and Gender Differences PIA, Michael Belloy, PhD had the opportunity to host a wonderful journal club session including a “meet the authors”. Papers covered how APOE and X chromosome variants contribute to sex dichotomy in cognition and brain function. The recording can be retrieved here: https://training.alz.org/nl/Research-Webinars
The Belloy lab is highly excited to announce it’s opening and joining the Neurogenomics and Informatics (NGI) center. We are now actively recruiting on multiple levels!
